HANDMADE, MOUNTED SILKSCREEN PRINT BY DENISE HUDDLESTON
Puffins seem to be everyones favourite Spring and Summer visitors. Characterful and almost comical. Seen around the offshore islands of the UK in summer, where they come ashore to breed in old rabbit burrows.
A minimal contemporary artwork to complement a coastal, urban or country home.
The hand-pulled artwork is screen printed in our own studio on the Isle of Skye.
Although it is a lengthy process, a personal approach is very important to me. I spend endless hours translating my drawings into artwork, suitable for the technique.
My design is finally exposed on to the silkscreen before the sampling starts. Extensive sampling, selecting and rejecting is undertaken before I can start to hand print the design onto specialist art paper. I print with eco friendly water based inks on quality 100% cotton paper.'
Background size is approx 50cm x 40cm, the actual printed area is approx 40cm x 30cm.
