The hand-pulled artwork is screen printed in our own studio on the Isle of Skye.
This piece is a celebration of wild places and birds of prey. White tailed sea eagles which we see all the time on Skye or more familiar buzzards and beautiful red kites further south. Whether you prefer to explore the mountain landscape of the English Lake District, Snowdonia or the Scottish mountains, the vast, wild places of the British Isles are a cause for celebration.
Originally inspired by a May day on the Isle of Skye. Snow still on the mountains, yet the sun blazed. We had taken a magical walk from Kilmarie towards Blaven.
'Although it is a lengthy process, a personal approach is very important to me. I spend endless hours translating my drawings into artwork, suitable for the technique. My design is finally exposed on to the silkscreen before the sampling starts. Extensive sampling, selecting and rejecting is undertaken before I can start to hand print the design onto specialist art paper. I print with eco friendly water based inks on quality 100% cotton paper.'
